#Bad25 Track List Unveiled

You have been asking for it...and today, your wish has been granted.  The track list for the BAD 25 project has been released and there is something for everyone.

Read the communiqué released earlier this morning from Sony & The Michael Jackson Estate:

New York, NY – Epic/Legacy Recordings in collaboration with the Estate of Michael Jackson today announced the highly anticipated track listing for the 14th September release of Michael Jackson BAD25   that celebrates the legendary album and record breaking BAD tour. Featured in the deluxe package, are three CDs, two collectible booklets, and the first ever authorised DVD release of a concert from the record breaking BAD World Tour – the July 16th, 1988 sold-out Wembley Stadium show in London.

Filled    with previously re-mastered versions of iconic hits and unreleased recordings from the King Of Pop, the BAD25 anniversary deluxe edition CDs and DVD will include the following:
CD    one features re-mastered versions of Michael’s biggest hits on the original BAD    album, including, “Smooth Criminal,”  “Man In The    Mirror,” “Bad”, “Another Part of Me”, “The Way You Make Me Feel” and    “Dirty Diana” arranged in the same sequence as they appeared on the    original album released 25 years ago. “Leave Me Alone” was added to the album    as a bonus track following its initial release and has been included on the    disc.          CD two offers fans a rare listen to thirteen additional tracks, six of which are previously    unreleased demo recordings created at Michael’s personal studio built at his    then-home on Hayvenhurst Avenue in Encino, California. Also included are all    three bonus tracks from the 2001 expanded edition of BAD, the previously    unreleased French version of Michael performing the classic, “I Just Can’t    Stop Loving You”, a high  power version of “Speed Demon” remixed by Nero    and the brand new remix of “Bad” worked on as an electrifying collaboration between    Pitbull and Dutch DJ Afrojack.
Recordings    included in this package reflect the songs and spirit of Michael Jackson’s    artistry during BAD’s recording sessions and have been selected to show the    different stages of how Michael’ssongwriting and recording genius took shape.    Some tracks are so complete that any other artist but Michael Jackson –    who worked tirelessly to make sure his songs reflected his vision – might    consider them finished tracks. Others are less complete but offer insight into    Michael’s creative process in its various stages. Included is the demo, “Al    Capone”, an early incarnation of what ultimately became “Smooth Criminal”,    “Don’t Be Messin’ Around”, an example of a more complete demo, and a song    initially titled, “song Groove”. That song later became known as “Abortion    Papers” which according to Michael’s own records, he spent considerable time in    weighing how best to thoughtfully address something that was, and remains, a    very personal and sensitive issue.
A    true highlight of the package is CD three and the DVD – the never-seen- before live concert on DVD and its accompanying music CD of Michael’s legendary    July 16th, 1988 concert at Wembley Stadium. The concert is not a compilation of    performances, but rather one complete show, exactly as Michael performed it for    Prince Charles, Princess Diana and the 72,000 fans who were in the audience for    that night’s sold out show. This show was one of the seven record-breaking    nights played at the venue attended by more than half a million people –    three times that many people tried to purchase tickets. The DVD was sourced    from Michael Jackson’s personal VHS copy of the performance as shown on the    JumboTrons during the concert. This footage was only recently unearthed and is    the only known copy of the show to exist. The visuals have now been restored    and the audio quality enhanced so that fans can share in the excitement of that    famous night in 5.1 surround sound taken from the original multitrack    recordings made that night.
In    addition to the complete Wembley Show, the DVD will also contain “The Way You    Make Me Feel” from Michael’s July 15th performance at Wembley    Stadium. This is the only song not performed on July 16th due to the    late start of that night’s show. Also included are the thrilling early    performances of “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” and “Bad” from the Yokohama    Stadium performance in September of 1987 during the first leg of the BAD World    Tour.

Celebrate Michael Jackson's 54th Birthday While Helping Others

Heal The World!

Michael Jackson's humanitarian work is almost as legendary as his dancing.  It is only fitting that fans worldwide join in an effort to mark Michael's birthday at the end of the month,  while giving a helping to those in need.

The group One Rose For Michael J Jackson, which recently helped deliver thousands of roses to Forest Lawn last June 25th,  have selected three (3) very important charities to guide fans in their own humanitarian gesture.

Donations are sent DIRECTLY to the organizations. No third party involved.

Here are all the information you need...to help MAKE THAT CHANGE:

1)  To Donate to St-Jude Research Hospital

2) To Donate to American Vitiligo Research Foundation

3) To Donate to UNICEF Immunizations

Again, ALL FUNDS go directly to each organization, not to One Rose, so you can be sure your money is really going to help those is need.

You Wanna See Who's Bad...?

For the past two weeks, Michael Jackson's fans worldwide have been following with great sadness the ongoing saga involving a few members of the Jackson Family.

We are greatly relieved that the children who meant the world to Michael, have been reunited with their beloved grandmother and are well taken care of.

While the dust is still settling, we think it is time for us to turn back to the most celebrated event of the year in our community: the September 17th /18th released of BAD 25.

Michael Jackson's iconic BAD album is celebrating its silver anniversary this year. And to mark the occasion, the Michael Jackson Estate is re-releasing the BAD album in a deluxe package: Demos, DVD of the July 16th Wembley Stadium concert with Princess Diana & Prince Charles in attendance, and many more goodies.

Deluxe Edition:

Also, available will be a COLLECTORS Deluxe edition complete with a case reminiscent of the BAD era buckles.

Deluxe Collectors Edition:

To Pre-order or review all the #BAD25 items, you can visit Michael Jackson's official store  ,  Amazon Bad 25 Store or your preferred online retailers.

And la pi ece de résistance is probably Spike Lee's hotly anticipated BAD 25 documentary.  Although a release date hasn't been announced, those lucky enough to have seen the first cut, have high praise for the project. Spike Lee himself had this to say:

"I'm more than just a huge fan of Michael Jackson, and having the chance to actually know him and work with him, I deeply care about his legacy. With this BAD project I was able to uncover just what made this such a huge, important coming of age in his career and unearth compelling stories surrounding the making of the album, the long awaited follow-up to Thriller -- the best selling album of all time - the short films and the tour that may have never seen the light of day."

Last week, it was announced that the documentary will premiere at the 2012 Venice Film Festival and we are hoping many italian fans will be able to attend and support this event.

All these amazing projects will help keep Michael Jackson's artistry in the forefront of the music industry, while introducing him to a new generation of fans.

Michael Jackson Jr. Speaks Out

Earlier this morning, Michael Jackson Jr. addressed for the very first time the ongoing tension within the Jackson family.  For 10 days now, the children's guardian, Mrs Katherine Jackson, had disappeared from their California home without a trace. Several members of the family, including Michael Jackson's minor children, have indicated they were barred from communicating with their beloved grandmother by several of MJ's siblings.  Katherine Jackson was finally returned to the children early this morning.

I would first like to start off this tweet by thanking the fans that have always stood by me and my family, my dad really appreciated your support and I still treasure it to this day. As I am sure everyone is well aware of the events that have been going on. I have been holding off on backing up my sister and her tweets avidly because I was waiting for the time to reveal my side. As long as I can remember my dad had repeatedly warned me of certain people and their ways. Although I am happy my grandma was returned, after speaking with her I realized how misguided and how badly she was lied to. I’m really angry and hurt. The following image is of a group chat I had started to several family members. This group text message I had started was replied to but they didn’t know that I could see the responses. For this whole time, they denied us contact to our grandmother. “If you continue with your lies I will continue with the truth”

Open Letter On Behalf Of Michael Jackson Fans in Support of MJ Estate

Open Letter On Behalf Of Michael Jackson Fans in Support of MJ Estate

Michael Jackson's fan base is aware of derogatory statements made by certain members of the Jackson family, against the executors of his Estate. We are shocked and saddened that propaganda, rather than seeking avenues to address their concerns legally, have been used to gain sympathy. While we most certainly support the beneficiaries of Jackson's Estate, Katherine Jackson and Michael's children, we equally support the executors, Mr. John Branca and Mr. John McClain.

Jackson's fans understand that the task both Branca and McClain took on when Michael died was staggering. Weighted in nearly $400 million in debt, with an overwhelming amount of pending lawsuits, the Executors took the reins of the Estate and went to work.

Posthumously, the Executors have ensured the highest grossing music documentary of all time, This Is It, two successful albums, the number one tour in North America, Cirque du Soleil's IMMORTAL, sold millions ofMichael Jackson The Experience video games, and are planning a huge release for the 25th anniversary of Jackson's legendary Bad album. Although every fan does not agree with all decisions the Estate has made, we agree that overall, the Estate has done well in preserving Michael's legacy. In addition, we agree with the Estate, that "false and defamatory accusations grounded in stale Internet conspiracy" do nothing to promote the positive ethic Michael Jackson espoused while alive.

In three years, Jackson's Estate is thriving, nearly debt free and Michael Jackson's music is still at the forefront of the music industry. We wholeheartedly support Michael Jackson's final wishes; that he trusted both John Branca and John McClain to continue his message through his music. The Michael Jackson fan base thanks the Executors for continuing to do just that, with grace and dignity.

Sincerely,

Much ado is made about the words “icon” and “legend” – both of which are used these days with careless “flimsy”. Yet, one needn’t rely on the propaganda of PR spin to know what those words represent. For, put simply, Michael Jackson is the blueprint.
Longtime readers will know that it was Michael’s musicality, vision, and precision that birthed my love for music; and ultimately my desire to share that with the masses via the creation of That Grape Juice five years ago. As such, like millions the world over, MJ occupies a special place in my life personally.

Oprah vs Michael Jackson...It's All About Ratings

Dear Oprah,

Horatio Nelson once said, “Desperate affairs require desperate measures.”  Judging by the recurring headlines detailing OWN Network’s dismal performance after a year and a half on the air, you must be looking for those “desperate measures”.
We can’t help but notice the irony of the current situation: the man you spent the better part of the last decade, bashing and stopping short of labeling a child molester, is the very man’s name and progeny, you are now using to salvage your sinking network. No doubt, at the top of OWN TV’s Rescue List would be a repeat of HIStory?

Remember in 1993, your Oprah show experienced record ratings, over 100 millions viewers tuned in, to watch you interview the world's biggest superstar, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. While you were a somewhat hot commodity in the United States then, Michael Jackson introduced you to an international audience.

When a few years later, Mr. Jackson had sex abuse allegations leveled against him, we all watched in dismay you turned on him, appointed yourself judge and jury, deciding even before evidence was presented in court, that he MUST be guilty of the charges.  After a jury of his peers rejected those accusations and returned a NOT GUILTY verdict on ALL counts, you continued to openly question his innocence with snide remarks, and demonized him to your audience and guests. You have made it very clear, whether by airing “Is Michael Jackson Guilty?” show during jury deliberations or molestation shows before or after interviewing members of Mr. Jackson’s family, that Lady O’s opinion is more important than those 12 jurors who sat through the grueling trial.
Randy Jackson, younger brother of Mr. Jackson confirmed in a 2010 interview, that Mr. Jackson was well aware of your smear campaign and your dubious attitude towards him. Though he never made his feelings about you public, his brother reiterated, She [Oprah] is the last person on earth he [Michael Jackson] would want around his children." Having crowned yourself a “child defender”, we find it distasteful, disgraceful and hypocritical, that you are now using grieving children, whose father you tried to sway a jury to send  behind bars, when it suits you. Few in the media have called out your shameful exploitation and hypocrisy, but we applaud the few who did.

The Wait Is Almost Over...#BAD25

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MAY 21, 2012

25th ANNIVERSARY OF MICHAEL JACKSON’S LANDMARK ALBUM BAD CELEBRATED WITH SEPTEMBER 18 RELEASE OF NEW BAD 25 PACKAGES
MICHAEL’S PERSONAL VHS COPY OF HIS JULY 16, 1988 PERFORMANCE AT WEMBLEY STADIUM UNEARTHED FOR THE RELEASE
NEWLY DISCOVERED OUTTAKES AND DEMOS FROM BAD ALBUM RECORDING SESSIONS TO BE RELEASED

New York, NY – Twenty-five years after the phrase “Who’s Bad” became a generation’s cultural catchphrase, Epic/Legacy Recordings, in collaboration with the Estate of
Michael Jackson, will celebrate the legendary album and record breaking BAD tour on September 18, 2012 with the release of a deluxe package, BAD 25, which includes three CDs, two collectible booklets, and features the first ever authorized DVD release of a concert from the record breaking BAD tour.
“The era of BAD represented Michael’s creative ‘coming of age’ as a solo artist in charge of every aspect of his career – from recording to touring to endorsements to merchandising. This was the first album on which nearly all of the songs were written by Michael. It was also was the first album in history to produce five consecutive #1 singles and it took 2 1⁄2 decades for another artist to match that success. It was also the first time Michael would tour as a solo artist - his vision, his decisions on what the show would be. The enormous success of the BAD album and tour was a pivotal moment in Michael’s growth as a composer, performer and producer cementing his role as the King of Pop. We are thrilled to celebrate such an historic era in Michael’s career with this release”, stated John Branca and John McClain, Co-Executors of the Estate of Michael Jackson.
The BAD 25 anniversary deluxe edition will feature three CDs and 1 DVD as follows:
The highlight of the package is the DVD of Michael’s legendary July 16, 1988 concert at Wembley Stadium. The concert is not a compilation of performances, but rather one complete show, exactly as Michael performed it for Prince Charles, Princess Diana and the 72,000 fans who were in the audience for that night’s sold out show. This show was one of the record-breaking seven nights played at the venue attended by more than half a million people – three times that many people tried to purchase tickets. The DVD was sourced from Michael Jackson’s personal VHS copy of the performance as shown on the JumboTrons during the concert. This footage was only recently unearthed and is the only known copy of the show to exist. The visuals have been restored and the audio quality enhanced so that fans can share in the excitement of that famous night
  • A CD of the re-mastered original BAD album
  • A CD containing previously unreleased material recorded in Michael’s personal studio at
Hayvenhurst. This material includes early demo versions of songs from the album as well as demos for songs not included on the final album. All of this material is being released as it was recorded during the BAD sessions. Nothing has been added. In addition, this CD will also include new remixes from internationally renowned DJ/producers
  • A CD showcasing the audio from the sound truck recordings of the July 16th Wembley performance. The first-ever live Michael Jackson CD to be released, this is the only concert from the BAD Tour known to exist on multitracks
This magnificent 3 CD/1 DVD box set will also include two extensive booklets with yet unseen photos from the recording sessions, video sets and the concert tour, the original BAD cover art, a two-sided poster and more. A BAD 25 two CD standard edition featuring the original album plus the CD of demos and new remixes will also be made available as will a stand alone edition of the DVD and a picture disc of the original album.
On June 5 in the U.S. (June 4th ex-U.S.), Epic / Legacy Recordings will re-release the original first single from the album "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" as a CD Single with a previously unreleased bonus track from the BAD sessions, "Don't Be Messin' 'Round (demo)." This is a Wal-Mart exclusive CD single in the U.S. and will not be available digitally.
On June 26 a replica edition of the original 7" vinyl of this single with the original B-side "Baby Be Mine" will be made available to the world. The first single for BAD, “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You,” was originally released on 7" vinyl in 1987. The 7" single edit of the song has only been available on that original 7" vinyl until now.
Recently, Pepsi announced an exclusive global partnership with the Estate of Michael Jackson as part of its new “Live for Now” campaign. Starting this month, Michael Jackson and Pepsi fans in more than 20 countries around the world will experience this partnership in a variety of ways, including a retail campaign featuring one billion special edition Michael Jackson Bad 25 Pepsi cans, live events, and opportunities for fans to access special edition merchandise and new music from BAD 25.

The BAD album was the third Michael Jackson album produced by Quincy Jones and was originally released on August 31, 1987. It was monumental in many ways; Michael wrote nine of the album's eleven tracks and received co-producer credit for the entire album. The album was #1 around the world, made history with five consecutive #1 singles on the Billboard chart, produced ten chart-topping singles, nine ground breaking short films and to date, the Bad album
has generated over 45 Million units in sales. BAD was nominated for six Grammys and won two; the album earned Michael the first-ever Video Vanguard Award at the MTV VMA Awards. Songs on the original album are: “Bad,” “The Way You Make Me Feel,” “Speed Demon,” “Liberian Girl,” “Just Good Friends” featuring Stevie Wonder, “Another Part of Me,” “Man in the Mirror,” “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You,” “Dirty Diana,” “Smooth Criminal,” with “Leave Me Alone” added to the album once released.
The BAD World Tour was Michael’s first concert tour as a solo artist. The legendary tour included 123 concerts attended by more than 4.4 million fans over sixteen months. When it concluded, the tour had shattered all previous touring records for attendance and total gross revenue adding three new entries in the Guinness World Records for the largest grossing tour in
history, the tour with the largest attended audience and the most sold out shows at Wembley Stadium.
More details on this and other exciting projects relating to BAD’s 25th anniversary will be announced soon.
