#Bad25 Track List Unveiled

You have been asking for it...and today, your wish has been granted.  The track list for the BAD 25 project has been released and there is something for everyone.

Read the communiqué released earlier this morning from Sony & The Michael Jackson Estate:

New York, NY – Epic/Legacy Recordings in collaboration with the Estate of Michael Jackson today announced the highly anticipated track listing for the 14th September release of Michael Jackson BAD25   that celebrates the legendary album and record breaking BAD tour. Featured in the deluxe package, are three CDs, two collectible booklets, and the first ever authorised DVD release of a concert from the record breaking BAD World Tour – the July 16th, 1988 sold-out Wembley Stadium show in London.

Filled    with previously re-mastered versions of iconic hits and unreleased recordings from the King Of Pop, the BAD25 anniversary deluxe edition CDs and DVD will include the following:
CD    one features re-mastered versions of Michael’s biggest hits on the original BAD    album, including, “Smooth Criminal,”  “Man In The    Mirror,” “Bad”, “Another Part of Me”, “The Way You Make Me Feel” and    “Dirty Diana” arranged in the same sequence as they appeared on the    original album released 25 years ago. “Leave Me Alone” was added to the album    as a bonus track following its initial release and has been included on the    disc.          CD two offers fans a rare listen to thirteen additional tracks, six of which are previously    unreleased demo recordings created at Michael’s personal studio built at his    then-home on Hayvenhurst Avenue in Encino, California. Also included are all    three bonus tracks from the 2001 expanded edition of BAD, the previously    unreleased French version of Michael performing the classic, “I Just Can’t    Stop Loving You”, a high  power version of “Speed Demon” remixed by Nero    and the brand new remix of “Bad” worked on as an electrifying collaboration between    Pitbull and Dutch DJ Afrojack.
Recordings    included in this package reflect the songs and spirit of Michael Jackson’s    artistry during BAD’s recording sessions and have been selected to show the    different stages of how Michael’ssongwriting and recording genius took shape.    Some tracks are so complete that any other artist but Michael Jackson –    who worked tirelessly to make sure his songs reflected his vision – might    consider them finished tracks. Others are less complete but offer insight into    Michael’s creative process in its various stages. Included is the demo, “Al    Capone”, an early incarnation of what ultimately became “Smooth Criminal”,    “Don’t Be Messin’ Around”, an example of a more complete demo, and a song    initially titled, “song Groove”. That song later became known as “Abortion    Papers” which according to Michael’s own records, he spent considerable time in    weighing how best to thoughtfully address something that was, and remains, a    very personal and sensitive issue.
A    true highlight of the package is CD three and the DVD – the never-seen- before live concert on DVD and its accompanying music CD of Michael’s legendary    July 16th, 1988 concert at Wembley Stadium. The concert is not a compilation of    performances, but rather one complete show, exactly as Michael performed it for    Prince Charles, Princess Diana and the 72,000 fans who were in the audience for    that night’s sold out show. This show was one of the seven record-breaking    nights played at the venue attended by more than half a million people –    three times that many people tried to purchase tickets. The DVD was sourced    from Michael Jackson’s personal VHS copy of the performance as shown on the    JumboTrons during the concert. This footage was only recently unearthed and is    the only known copy of the show to exist. The visuals have now been restored    and the audio quality enhanced so that fans can share in the excitement of that    famous night in 5.1 surround sound taken from the original multitrack    recordings made that night.
In    addition to the complete Wembley Show, the DVD will also contain “The Way You    Make Me Feel” from Michael’s July 15th performance at Wembley    Stadium. This is the only song not performed on July 16th due to the    late start of that night’s show. Also included are the thrilling early    performances of “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” and “Bad” from the Yokohama    Stadium performance in September of 1987 during the first leg of the BAD World    Tour.

Much ado is made about the words “icon” and “legend” – both of which are used these days with careless “flimsy”. Yet, one needn’t rely on the propaganda of PR spin to know what those words represent. For, put simply, Michael Jackson is the blueprint.
Longtime readers will know that it was Michael’s musicality, vision, and precision that birthed my love for music; and ultimately my desire to share that with the masses via the creation of That Grape Juice five years ago. As such, like millions the world over, MJ occupies a special place in my life personally.

Oprah vs Michael Jackson...It's All About Ratings

Dear Oprah,

Horatio Nelson once said, “Desperate affairs require desperate measures.”  Judging by the recurring headlines detailing OWN Network’s dismal performance after a year and a half on the air, you must be looking for those “desperate measures”.
We can’t help but notice the irony of the current situation: the man you spent the better part of the last decade, bashing and stopping short of labeling a child molester, is the very man’s name and progeny, you are now using to salvage your sinking network. No doubt, at the top of OWN TV’s Rescue List would be a repeat of HIStory?

Remember in 1993, your Oprah show experienced record ratings, over 100 millions viewers tuned in, to watch you interview the world's biggest superstar, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. While you were a somewhat hot commodity in the United States then, Michael Jackson introduced you to an international audience.

When a few years later, Mr. Jackson had sex abuse allegations leveled against him, we all watched in dismay you turned on him, appointed yourself judge and jury, deciding even before evidence was presented in court, that he MUST be guilty of the charges.  After a jury of his peers rejected those accusations and returned a NOT GUILTY verdict on ALL counts, you continued to openly question his innocence with snide remarks, and demonized him to your audience and guests. You have made it very clear, whether by airing “Is Michael Jackson Guilty?” show during jury deliberations or molestation shows before or after interviewing members of Mr. Jackson’s family, that Lady O’s opinion is more important than those 12 jurors who sat through the grueling trial.
Randy Jackson, younger brother of Mr. Jackson confirmed in a 2010 interview, that Mr. Jackson was well aware of your smear campaign and your dubious attitude towards him. Though he never made his feelings about you public, his brother reiterated, She [Oprah] is the last person on earth he [Michael Jackson] would want around his children." Having crowned yourself a “child defender”, we find it distasteful, disgraceful and hypocritical, that you are now using grieving children, whose father you tried to sway a jury to send  behind bars, when it suits you. Few in the media have called out your shameful exploitation and hypocrisy, but we applaud the few who did.

A Time For Justice...

If you want peace, work for justice. -  Henry Louis Mencken

With the Criminal Trial looming (Jury Selection begins this coming Thursday, Sept. 8th) we here at Michael Jackson Fans United For His Legacy, have decided to re-focus our attention to fighting for Justice for Michael Jackson.

Until late this week, we have been campaigning hard to have the upcoming Global Live Events (GLE)  Michael Tribute Concert cancelled, or at the very least, postponed.  But time and again, we've met opposition and were told, our concerns wouldn't change anything.  We go on with the belief that this concert is not THE tribute Michael Jackson deserves, but an avenue for the organizers to, once again, fill their pockets using Michael Jackson as bait. So be it.

We renew the initial call to our members to boycott this "Tribute" and re-focus our attention to the Conrad Murray Trial.  After two long and arduous years, we believe it is time for Michael Jackson to finally get some justice, so he can rest in peace.

We have waited for this trial since June 25th 2009, and now, that this day has finally arrived; we must put the ongoing circus surrounding GLE's concert on the back burner, and turn our heads to the LA Courthouse. This is what matters most...really, for the next few months, it is the ONLY thing that matters.

As we re-focus our attention to Judge Michael Pastor's courtroom, we must remember there will be many difficult revelations on the road to justice. Already the defense has hinted Michael Jackson, as much as Conrad Murray, will be put on trial.  They need to be reminded that nothing will deter us, until he finally gets JUSTICE! We owe it to Michael and his beloved children to show support and respect, the same way we did in Santa Maria in 2005.

Justice is truth in action   -  Benjamin Disraeli

Make That Change: Your Own Tribute to Michael

To all Michael Jackson fans,

For the past week, there have been a lot of discussions as to the validity of a tribute show during the Conrad Murray trial and without his estate involvement.

Many fans have already indicated they will not attend the tribute.
We ask that all of you do what could be considered the greatest tribute to a humanitarian like Michael Jackson: Donate to help famine relief in Africa.

In the spirit of Michael Jackson and the effort, that he and a group of artists started 26 years ago with We Are the World, we encourage you all to go the extra mile and donate.

We think this is one tribute, Michael Jackson, without a doubt, would be very proud of.

You can give a TRIBUTE DONATION in Memory of Michael Jackson or in the Spirit of We Are The World

We have contacted the children branch of the United Nations to inquire about a designated fund for Michael Jackson fans.  This fund would allow MJ fans to track their donations.  As soon as we get a reply, we will gladly share it with you all.

In the meantime, people are dying everyday in Africa, so we MUST act quickly. You do not have to wait for the Michael Jackson fund to be setup to make a difference.

Update: From around the world, you can donate to the newly created UNICEF Michael Jackson Fans for Africa HERE
